Southington LibraryAnnounces “Best in Show” and other awards at
The Celebrate the ARTS art exhibit
The Southington Library Café was alive with music last Thursday evening, as artists, writers and members of the community “Celebrated the Arts” in the Gallery at the Library. Sean Michanczyk, owner/founder of Paris in Plantsville Gallery & Studio judged the 35 art entries before the reception. The talented winners are:
Best in Show was awarded to Winter White an acrylic painting by Linda DeLuca, Second Place went to Venus in Cerulean Skies photographed by Justin Piccirillo, Jamaican Tie Dye an oil painting by Susan Sokolowski received Third Place, Jane White’s pastel titled Rocks at Pemaquid received Best use of Materials and the Most Innovative award went to Wine Cork Holder a wood creation by Richard Frano.
Melinda Brookes and John LaBlanc members of the 2012 Southington Library Writers Group read portions of their memoirs to the crowd while Southington keyboardist Kim Myers entertained.

The public is invited to view the “Celebrate the Arts” in the Gallery during normal library business hours, Monday through Thursday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and Friday and Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
